Milan Fashion Week

The fashion world is currently flooded with "hot, young" designers creating quirky collections that seem unwearable, so it's always good to see a classic name such as Giorgio Armani on the catwalk. His Spring/Summer 2008 collection, which was presented yesterday as part of Milan Fashion Week, consists of elegantly tailored womenswear. He is very traditional in both his designs and presentation as the show began with day wear and build up to eveningwear. The daywear relied on a very neutral palette with midi length skirts and shorts. Cinched in waists were emphasised with cropped, tailored jackets. Wrap over jackets and dresses were key as they highlighted the return of a curvy shape.

The middle part of the vast collection worked with a key colour for next season, navy blue. It's a great day to night colour that has been featured in many catwalk shows this season. The daytime silhouette continued with the hemlines being raised slightly. Voluminous shapes were used for the lower half, such as hareem pants, but updated with luxurious materials such as satin and chiffon.

The eveningwear line previewed a lot of dresses that you're sure to spot on the red carpet over the coming year. Chiffon was draped, and intricate beading used to decorate maxi length black dresses. Unusually, Armani styled the dresses with flat black pumps, they were also accessorised with small, beaded sac-clutch bags.

There were also a line of silver evening pieces including a strapless jumpsuit in a metallic leaf print fabric. There was a distinctive '30s flapper feel to these pieces which were teamed with sequin skull caps and large statement jewellery. Nearly all the dresses had plunging necklines revealing the clavicles. The final dress was a beautiful vintage lace dress worn with a long, golden shawl.

Giorgio Armani looked in future and explored the world of ‘plastic fantastic’ in his younger, Emporio Armani collection at Milan Fashion Week. Armani exploded colors like fireworks on graphic PVC catwalk, sending a clear signal that he is back once again, working at full creative power after battling with hepatitis over summer.

It was designer’s second show in Milan, but this collection delivered an equally vibrant Giorgio Armani main line for spring/summer 2010. Bikinis and swimsuits were bedecked with Plexiglas brooches and necklaces as bright as molten lava, while sandals featured crimson Perspex heels and ankle-straps. Short, party dresses in Vesuvian shades of fuchsia and bright orange, were cinched with shiny, shocking-pink, and patent-leather belts.

http://fashionadvertisinggallery.blogspot.com/Is this not the best-styled show ever? Would you not love to flaunt down the high street with your caramel macchiato in a full evening gown, cropped leather jacket and scarf? Oh just me then. Well I loved it. Ok, so this show is all in the styling and overall feel. But the boyfriend cuts, and ‘out all night’ looks were inspired.

http://fashionadvertisinggallery.blogspot.com/We’ve seen the androgynous look being sported for a while now, but it was the nonchalant feel that really set this show apart. DSquared2 are of course a more casual brand, you don’t on the whole turn to them for a couture gown, and there is only so much you can do with denim. So this show is a great step for the design duo. Taking an old recipe and making it suddenly seem fresh. Oversized scarves, plaid and man trousers look casual in that ‘I stole it from my boyfriend but don’t I look sexy? sort of way.

The oversized cargo pants and jeans look stylish and comfortable. Shrunken jackets are lust worthy and the hints of leopard print create a really rock chick feel. The skimpy t-shirt dresses have an air of defiance about them, whilst the hats and giant scarves show the fun in winter accessorising.

Milan Fashion Week: Giorgio Armani S/S 2010

http://fashionadvertisinggallery.blogspot.com/It is not a surprise that jacket is the protagonist of the Giorgio Armani Spring/Summer 2010 collection. Blazers, masculine or cropped, tuxedos and boleros appear on the catwalk and confirm the jacket as the iconic piece of the Italian fashion house.

Bleu, in all its gradations like royal, turquoise, cobalt, navy and cerulean, marks the whole collection in which the only other colours having place are fuchsia and orange. The new Giorgio Armani collection presents soft shapes and fluid figures that become shorter on the pleated and draped minidresses for Spring/Summer.
