Justine Henin, who was ranked the world's No. 1 player last year, is set to announce a return to women's professional tennis later today. Back in May she complained about how the sport left her with various physical ailments, and noted that she did not think a return was possible. In the past month she began to train again, but hasn't commented on plans of a return to the sport.
Henin, 27, is expected to make a formal announcement Tuesday afternoon, and is likely to be ready for the first major of next season.
Henin has won 41 WTA tournaments and earned mroe than $19 million. She has won seven grand slam championships including four French Opens and two US Open titles, and took home gold during the 2004 Olympics.
