Meditate in the morning
If you’re not a morning person, this probably won’t work well for you, but if you are, then wake up, wash your face and get into the lotus position (legs crossed, back straight) on the floor before you have your morning coffee and get your day started.

There’s a good chance that you won’t be able to meditate in a room that has too many distractions (stereo, TV, pictures, etc) so try to find a section of your home that will allow you to focus on you.

Sit comfortably
The lotus position is the most popular for meditation – sit on your butt and cross your legs over opposing thighs, keeping your back straight. Place the backs of your hands onto your knees and keep your neck straight.
It’s possible that you may get sleepy the first few times so you’d do best to sit with your back toward a hard surface. That way, if you begin to drift off, you’re back will hit the surface, and you’ll awaken and try to focus again.

Focus on your breathing
You’d be surprised to know that most women don’t know how to breathe correctly and end up breathing from their chest or sucking in their stomachs on the inhale.
To take deep, calculated breaths, inhale, letting your stomach protrude as far as it can go and exhale slowly, bringing your stomach back to its normal position. Try to last 10 seconds on the inhale and another 10 on the exhale.
